Meet Mason. He's 2, living with Cerebral Palsy and lovin' his Ookkie!
We spoke to Mason's mum, Kate, to learn a bit more about Mason and his journey with Ookkie and how it's helped him living with Cerebral Palsy. Here's what she had to say.
What was your reason for getting an Ookkie?
Mason had a stroke when he was born and lives with Cerebral Palsy as a result of the stroke. He has recently learnt to walk short distances so we were looking for something we could use to help him with longer distances like going to the park that was still fun and active for him.
Describe the learning experience on the Ookkie for us.
We thought it would take months of working with Masons therapists for him to be able to use the Ookkie but he picked it up on his second go and LOVES it.
Do you get any comments when you're out and about riding the board?
ALWAYS, he gets lots of comments of how fun it looks as he is always smiling when he is on his Ookkie
How has the Ookkie helped your little one in their development?
It has been amazing for Masons gross motor skills, his core strength, balance and stability and most importantly his independence and ability to keep up with his peers.
How has the Ookkie become a part of your family life and routine?
Mason loves going up and down the street every day and we take him down to the park on it as he prefers that over sitting in the pram. Where can readers follow along with Mason's journey?
